Activity: Couples Night

Couples Night
Last night, we had a Couples Night at our church. Of course, we are Baptists...so we had food! Hamburgers, hot dogs and snacks. We then had a guest speaker...Pastor Cervi...from Silver Springs, NV. He spoke on teamwork in marriage. I went home with some great thoughts to help me in my own marriage. He brought a group of married couples from his church as well...so it was double the fun! We then had Wii Competitions! We had two Wii systems set up...one for two couples to play against each other and the other for husbands and wives to play against each other. It was so much fun! Perhaps this might be an idea for your church couples. Have a good day!

So I will go now and start the night...the Blazin' Buffalo and Ranch Doritos in the cupboard are calling my name!
Have a great Friday!

Flower Gardens

I am also interested in planting a flower bed or two. I have not had much experience except for marigolds and petunias! LOL! Any advice out there? I would appreciate any advice you could offer!

Vegetable Gardens

I am thinking of planting a garden this year. Our weather is getting in the 50's and 60's in the afternoons. So it is time to get out and work in the garden! I will be putting on my blog in the next few weeks some great gardening tips that I recently read in a gardening magazine.
Questions for you...
What great tips do you have for me?
What is your favorite veggie to grow? Mine is tomatoes! So delish!
Are you planning a garden this summer?
What veggies will you be planting?
Happy gardening!

A Princess Sleepover!

Last Friday, our daughters had three friends over for a sleepover! The girls are the Snow girl sisters - Emily and Erica - twins: age 6 and Erin - age 4. So we had six girls in the house ages...6, 5, 4, 3, and 1! Crazy! LOL! They had a great time with a limited amount of drama!
Great memories for our girls!

New Touches On My Home!

Recently, I was finally able to buy curtains for my living room, kitchen and hallway! Going from a two-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom house...I didn't have enough decorations, curtains, etc. when we moved in. So I did what we could at the time...new laminate flooring, new carpet, painting...and then we ran out of money! LOL! So we had to hold off to do some of the decorating and extras.
But it makes so more thankful when you wait for what you want until you can afford them! I am so thankful for my new curtains!

Redecorating for $.97!

Recently, I decided to try an idea I had. I spray-painted black all of my oak photo frames that I have in my living room. The oak color on the photo frames didn't quite match my living room and I wanted black accents in my decorating. So for $ .97 for the spray paint...I was able to create a whole new look for my living room!
When redecorating, use things that you already have! You will save a lot of money and can have a great new look!

Our new truck!

After we got home from Reno...our transmission went out on our car. Praise the Lord - we were able to get it fixed for a reasonable amount. However, we decided to look for a second vehicle with some money we had set aside. The Lord led us to finding a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 truck on Craig's List! And we paid only $2,800! This was a major blessing because we had $3,500 set aside - not even knowing if we could find anything in that range. The Lord saved us $700! It is a double cab and has plenty of room for the whole family! Praise the Lord for watching over us!

Our new puppy: Max!

We have a new member of the Tastet household! A new puppy named Max!
Well, I am not a fan of dogs or just pets in general! They are too much work and I already have three little "pets" called kids! LOL! But I gave in like a good wife :) and we have a new dog. His name is Max and he is a cutie! His father is a purebred Border Collie and his mother is a purebred Australian Stub-Tail Cattle Dog. The parents are certified working dogs on a ranch here in Reno. I posted lots of pics on my website as well as a video on my blog. Sierra can already say his name...and it is so cute!
Welcome Max!
